Announcing Color Magic 2.0

We are thrilled to announce the release of CODIJY Color Magic 2.0 – the first major upgrade of the professional software for artistic photo colorization, released last April. Version 2.0 introduces several important tools and features including the useful HSB Repaint tool and enables its users to export the Color History to the new library.

The major upgrade is available as a free download for all registered users of CODIJY Software.

New: The HSB Repaint Tool

The search for best-matching colors has always been the Holy Grail of any colorization process. CODIJY Color Magic 2.0 presents a quick and intuitive solution for the quick color adjustment.

With the help of the new HSB Repaint tool you can quickly edit the Hue, Saturation and Brightness of any color mask.

To use this tool, the users need to click the Roller icon located under the Drawing Tools. Then the user should click the color stroke (mask) to call the HSB Repaint dialog.

The users can adjust colors by dragging handles or changing the values of the Hue, Saturation and Brightness. Once they are done it’s recommended that they generate the colorized preview to compare the result.

If the user is not satisfied with the result, they can keep on experimenting with the tones or discard the changes using the circular arrow.

New: Export the Color History

If you are colorizing several similar images (e.g. frames from the movies), you will appreciate the new Export to Library command in the document History.

Exporting the History to a New Library is the great way of building your own collection of color libraries and have your best palettes always at hand!

New: Undo/Redo Commands Data Compression

This new feature will speed up colorization process, when you have to work with large image files. There is also the Dump Undo Commands to Disk option available in the new version of Color Magic.

Both of he options are available from the Preferences under the Undo/Tem Files Tab.

NOTE: We recommend enabling one of the options.

New: The Full Screen Mode

Version 2.0 lets you open the application in the full screen mode.

New: Export / Import of the Masks to the File

If you colorize large image files, you can make their small size copies and colorize them instead, which will save your time on the image processing. Then, you can export the mask to the file and import the CMSK file into the document with the large-size copy of the image. The program will adjust the scale of the masks accordingly.

This will save you namely hours of you are planning to restore the historical images in their original quality.

Updated & Fixed

Gradient Pen Tool now works in three stages:

• Drawing: when you draw following the gradient;
• Editing: modify the Gradient Settings
• Applying: apply Gradient settings;

In Line Drawing mode: Add shortcut (by def. SPACE) that allows to fix the current segment without interrupting the drawing. Switch between free-hand drawing and line drawing without interrupting the drawing.

Starting with Version 2.0.0, the history of used colors and gradients
is stored together with the document file.

FIX
Major and minor bugs fixes. Application stability improvement.
